Again, there is no method, its not like that at all. The people who make it in media buying either have high risk tolerance and are willing to lose a lot of money upfront or they have the patience to keep testing slowly until they find something that works.
Also, I never said i make 100% ROI on all campaigns; i said that my goal is to reach that with every campaign and that usually margins for example as low as $75-$80 cost for a $100 payout are as low as ill go. Lower then that and ill consider the campaign too risky to run and ill get back to testing.

You aren't giving yourself enough credit for all the effort you put in testing and finding things that work. You make it seem like all I have to do is make a catchy banner and link to adult friend finder.
Once you have figured out what's selling and how to get the most roi out of it - that's your method. In my world I would find other paid traffic sources and sell the same thing in the same way.
It sounds like you have highly successful short term campaigns. Where as I try to average for example 10% over a few weeks or months. If I dip below my goal I will tweak and retest.
I've been buying traffic since sex.com was a ppc search engine. I don't know much about buying banners on tubes though. I guess you're not paying per click there and that's why it sounds so much different.
