You can of course get younger girls, but there is not that much demand for older guys. So the quality is not as good and if there are multiple gramps looking for company, some will be left standing alone.
It does of course help if you are good looking, smart, rich, etc., but most guys are not that as younger, not to mention as older. Well maybe richer, but the other stuff that you are pretty much born with, doesn't usually change for better direction.

The only reason why guys, young or old, strike out with chicks is because they have no clue what they're doing. Looks don't matter, age doesn't matter, money doesn't matter. Do these help, sure. But it's all in how good your game is. Ever seen ugly, fat, nasty guys with hot chicks? There's a reason for that and it's not because some chicks are into apparent losers.
