That is a human perspective based on our limited, and probably very primitive knowledge. In the grand scheme of the universe, we only discovered how to make fire recently.

The universe is so vast we can't possibly have a clue what is out there. We don't even know what is beneath the surface of Mars. We only have theories and limited data on why things are. All of it could be wrong. Or not. But we are only able to see so much of the universe, so we have no idea how large it actually is and what is really out there.

Then to assume that all other life forms in the entire universe are only as advanced as we are, is arrogant and immature. We very well may be the dumbest fuckers in the entire universe. So dumb, that we're not worth making contact with because we are too ignorant to communicate with an advanced civilization. Or not. But to assume no one can visit us because we can not find or visit someone else, is laughable and shows the true arrogance of human beings. The truth is, way may be nothing more than piss ants near something so huge that we can't even see it. Like an ant walking on a super highway, thinking it is the smartest ant in existence, yet it can't see past the highway full of other life forms passing it by.

Whatever the case, none of us will ever know.
