You know I hear about how the gay community from a gay friend hate Ronald Reagan. They think that he had something against the Gay Community because he couldn't talk about aids till 1988.
Truth be told, Aids hit the country in 1981, it was given the name AIDS in 1982. In 1983 a Reagan Secretary told the press that it one top of the agenda. A news reporter asked Reagan if there was going to be more funding in 1985, he told the press that at present, the government had spent half a billion dollars. And he was correct about that.
He was at one point president of the screen actors guild and his best friend was Rock Hudson.
He spoke out about the Briggs initiative that would have prevented gays from working as teachers
