The political right knows its days are numbered and are past the point where they can win elections based on the strength of their ideas. So, they resort to anything they can to stymie the democratic process and make it as hard to vote as possible. The fact that tens of thousands of new voter registrations can disappear with no explanation is highly disturbing and possibly criminal.
