Insidious is scary. But as Glen said, it's all subjective.
I like slow burning, creepy horror without all of the in-your-face jump scares.

I thought Insidious was pretty damn good. I liked how it was all horror with virtually no visual effects. I was already into the movie, but when the old lady put on the gas mask, holy shit - I don't know why but I really, really got into from that point forward. Insidious II was also pretty good but not as good as the first one. I didn't see Occulus yet but heard it was decent.
One of the best Creepy / Horrow movies I've seen in a long time is
TRIANGLE, about a group of people out on a boat. Well acted, Mind-bending SMART movie that promises little in the preview, but delivers a whole lot more.
