I think you understand where I am coming from - not knowing what other bidder might have offered.
Lets say you offer 500 and somebody offers 600 (and you do not know this bid). You lose the name to that guy, even if you might have offered 700 (but you simply did not know that "private" 600 bid existed).

Thanks for clarifying and your concerns are a nonissue fortunately. You can only bid successful bids- they have to meet reserve and be higher than the current high bidder. Also, we have an anti-snipe feature that adds time to the end of contested auctions. You will never get sniped if you are available on Oct 1 at 4:20 PM ET to compete with other bidders. So, your worries not something that could happen and you can Bid Bid Bid without fear.
