For me it makes sense to fund it 5,000 at a time, usually weekly and it saves me the expense of several dozen small wires from my bank account, a cost I would have to pass on to my affiliates and performers otherwise.

If I was doing 1000 at a time I wouldn't bother.

If you are not a business owner and are just using it to get paid, then let your sponsors worry about funding it.
