I still haven't filled the 32gb usb stick I play in my car - and it's got damn near everything I'd ever want to listen to - including a few dozen entire-album MP3s. I think in total it has about 1400 MP3s.

I can't imagine ever needing/wanting 500gb of music storage. I doubt I even have enough years of life left to listen to all that.
