at the time, there was not much that was similar in the way of functionality... and the service was good to begin with..
And it hurts a bit after you've paid a couple thousand to have someone implement a few different copies of the script across 1000+ sites...
I do agree he should have not made it a lifetime thing, that's always an issue.. like those people selling lifetime links (I always chuckle at that). What he should have done was charge for major version changes. i.e.: new features, being able to handle newer php versions, etc, etc.. I, as well as most others, would have had no problem paying for that.
