I've had this kind of situation happen to me. Someone actually did steal my CC number and bought a membership to xpics about 2 years ago on my visa. I called and charged it back and I also told them obviously someone has my CC number and I want a new one. They didn't really want to but after telling them I'll find a new visa card they jumped right on to send me a new one.
