One of the thing that pisses comics off the most is when people take offense to a joke. I feel for her family, as everyone does. And yes you are right, if someone is being intentionally malicious as in they are just ripping on her not to make a joke then it's not a joke, but a joke is a joke. Doesn't matter at all if she died, if she was alive, she would've laughed.
One of the best ways you can celebrate a comic's life is to rip a joke about them.
Bill Burr was saying the other day on his podcast she should be considered one of the top 5 comics of all time.
