Just because people are old, they should have their gun rights taken away?

Last October, my 74 year old dad defended himself from a guy in his 30's that started beating him thought the window on his truck, he stopped when a gun was pointed at him, a loaded gun. At 74, my dad regularly shoots in a club he belongs to!
