Maybe.
I've done the same, married fifteen years, one child, kept a roof over their heads and food on their plates, very stable. While this is an accomplishment, it's one that most people enjoy. My in-laws pretty much lived in poverty their entire lives, and can say the same thing - raised four kids, roof over their heads, food, and stable family life - Now entering retirement they have money in the bank, but live in a shack in a ghetto of a town.
I don't call that success.
When you retire, sell your house in California, and move to your condo on Waikiki beach.... That's success.
