You have downplayed Russia's role, as you seem to keep that either it's full war or nothing at all. The definition of "real war" is now quite blurred. Russia seems to have thousands soldiers and hundreds of tanks and other vehicles making war against Ukraine. Seems to be pretty real to me. Of course Putin could keep it's line, put everything it has on the line and say "They are not our forces."
