He held dual citizenship USA and Ukraine. He was of Ukrainian heritage and fought then died for the Ukrainian cause. You rejoicing at an American-Ukrainian volunteer's death is disgusting nationalism or just child like behavior.
Why should I, as an U S citizen, give a fuck if someone joins his "brothers" and fights and dies? He knew the risks.
The same goes for the 2 Israeli-American IDF soldiers that died in Gaza. They chose sides they fought and died.
In both instances these men have my respect as they chose sides and fought for their convictions -- right or wrong they had some brass balls.
