My experience in martial arts is that those above you should always be better than you if they are actively training. Achieving the same belt is not the same as achieving the same skill level and experience.

Have you reached that level of training that you aren't comparing yourself to your training partners, and comparing if you were better than yourself the day/week/month/year before?
I love Muay Thai. I've been Nak Muay longer than training BJJ, my shins are dented, my hands tore up, and I wouldn't give it up for the world.
