Seriously, it takes more than coding skills to make a good adult programmer.

He/she needs to understand the industry and "think" like a webmaster - understand how the code will be used and what data the webmaster is looking for, and code it correctly.

On top of that, one needs to be concerned with security (!), scalability, efficency and legible code..

We've "auditioned" several acclaimed programmers and have been very disappointed.
