There is difference between religious and religious nut job. And the people those came with Mayflower were puritans, mostly.
"The Mayflower was the ship that transported mostly English Puritans and Separatists, collectively known today as the Pilgrims, from Plymouth England to the New World.[1] There were 102 passengers and the crew is estimated to be approximately 30 but the exact number is unknown."
"The Pilgrim ship Mayflower has a famous place in American history as a symbol of early European colonization of the future United States.
