It's your attitude: "it's still just a rat with a furry tail". Even if it would be just a rat, that what they did is still sadistic and cruel.
And some stuff that humans do to each other doesn't make everything else mute. I haven't talked anything about cutting heads or torture. The bounty is for arrest, not for his head literally. You can place your own bounties if you like, for those other "evil bastards".
And the general shitty sentiment builds just like that: "Its just a [insert some living creature in here]. That something has been slawes, black people, Jews and who knows how many living things.
