If you refuse to assimilate, then you reap what you sow. There is no one to blame but yourself for your choices, and the buck stops there. Sadly, this is human nature. Add in, as Mutt referenced, the "chosen people" yoke, and you start to see most of this "hatred" (i.e. people do not like jews) is because of their own doing. Much like what is going on today, in regards to how they choose to deal with Arabs and Palestinians.
