This usually depends. Morale to fight some war in some hellhole you have never heard of is somewhat different thing than fighting literally for your existence, or for most of us freedom and such are enough good causes. And I mean for real, not some bullshit in some requiting flyer.
I am ready to fight, but not in some hellhole. There is even a military game where our morale drops the more the further we move from our country (but otherwise the highest morale in the game). That pretty much sums it up.
