Monetizing Traffic by GEOs - Real Talk

Hey, I've been talking to a lot a bunch of different webmasters lately (small, med, big) and 90% of them aren't monetizing their traffic to its fullest potential. A lot of guys told me they don't even have an ad server and are still manually entering ads... If you don't have an ad server then its a lot harder to manage your banners spots and serve the ads to the right audience.

I've noticed 2 main types of webmasters.

small-med traffic:
They send all their traffic to ad networks or they have a few paysites, cam, dating they like to promote.

On ad networks, if you check for a whole month, you'll see some countries you are getting such a low CPM its not even registering as a full cent on your payout. Go ahead and double check, I won't name networks but go and check. So all that traffic you sent on those GEOs is just wasted. IMO it would be better to find an offer that matches those GEOs you aren't getting paid on right now. Once you've tackle that you can always try and find new offers that pay a higher eCPM on geos your monetizing with ad networks.

As for paysites, if you get down to it and crunch the stats I bet you'll find the same GEOs keep buying the products. That's great but what about the rest of the GEOs you served a banner and maybe they clicked but they'll never buy because the landing page isn't in the language of their country. If I served you a hot banner and you clicked and the landing page was in Chinese would you buy the product? So why not limit the GEOs on these paysite banners to those that buy and serve other offers to those that dont buy that match the GEOs.

Big traffic sites
They sell flat or by geo to ad broker, ad networks or direct.

I can understand not all sites have a traffic monetization expert on staff but just selling it on flat, I just get the feeling theirs a lot of money being left on the table. When I look at the ecpms were doing at CMG by GEO it's like the brokers and ad networks are taking a big cut.

I'd like to hear from the guys who are breaking up their traffic, crunching stats and really monetizing their traffic to the very last drop. It's 2014, 99% of everyone who is connected to the internet has a cc or a mobile phone (direct billing, CPI) so all GEOs are an opportunity with the right offer.

Am I missing something here, nuts, put your feedback. Also I'd like to see if we can share offers on specific GEOs that are doing fantastic.
