It was President Reagan that was personally responsible for the deaths of 220 Marines in the 1993 Beirut bombing. It was he that over road the advice of his Secretary of Defense not to send troops to Beirut. It was he that ordered them housed as they were...which made them sitting ducks. It was he that ordered them not to have any loaded weapons...which left them defenseless against stopping the truck bomber. He did this because he wanted them to appear as peace keepers not warriors which is what they are trained to be.
Micro management of the military by politicians gets our people killed.
