Even though the media went after him like attack dogs...he really was "The Great Communicator" and had that special "something" that made you like him even if you disagreed with what he was doing.
He is a very, very rare case. Maybe the only one of his kind except for George Washington and FDR.
Not sure if it means he did good things or not. But he definitely had charm.
I remember when he was President and I was living with my first wife in Ft. Lauderdale.
I was an avid fan of Rolling Stone magazine and their political section. I didn't realize it was so biased...I just thought they were "reporting".
So I HATED Reagan at that time.
But I swear to God, every time he would address the nation on television...all that would kinda melt away and he'd charm everybody. He just had that gift.

I loved Reagan.
But then again, I was very young and didn't have much thought on politics and what was happening. All I remember was the over all feeling of the country - combined with my age, I felt it was a very optimistic time.
