Only time will tell the effectiveness of any leader. Polls can be misleading - results of actions taken now will be the best gauge in time as to whether he was the worse or something else. I'm sure even in Lincoln's day the polls wouldn't favor him too much. (Lincoln had won the 1860 election in November with 39.8 percent of the popular vote.) Currently Obama is at 43% and his lowest was oct 2011 it was 38% for his presidential job approval. NOTE: Nixon was at 26% in July 1974

By no means and I comparing Obama or any president to Lincoln - just saying that using current polls may not be the best thing to determine much of anything now.
