Significantly, it actually does impact the entire industry. Also, it ties in to the other issues that are completely changing the playing field with regards to tube traffic, google traffic - paid and organic, and to be honest, way more money is on the line there than the AEBN deal even comes close to representing.

If you actually really acted with any sort of journalistic integrity then that would be instantly apparent. You might even find that it is more newsworthy than programs/affiliates having to change a payment method when companies move banks. Seriously, that sort of story has not been front page for years.

However, you are almost on the mark with the "punishes the tube sites in serps" - just a bit late to the table - that punishment is exactly what has been going on now for a while and the adwords deal represents only one part of where Google is trying to "correct" the situation. Google loves the tube sites for delivering good user experience but hates them almost for the same reason. Free content is good, people like that, but free content that you can see everywhere not so much, because people don't like that. Kind of a catch-22 when it comes to search algorithms.
