Hell, he's already destroyed the entire premise of the books that caught everyone's interest in the first place.
Now he has so many storylines running in so many directions, that I can't see how he can pull it all back in and make it work.
That's probably his master plan anyway. Keep writing this series until he dies. If he actually finished it...then he wouldn't have another book to sell. So just keep the stories going until you die. Then...he won't care anymore. lol

I saw an interview with the guys that run the HBO show and they said they had to sit down with George and have a discussion with him about how the story ends. They said just in case something were to happen (you never know he could get in a car accident tomorrow and die) and now millions of dollars are riding on his story. Supposedly he gave them a pretty detailed explanation of how it all plays out. I haven't read the books yet (I'm waiting for the entire series to come out), but my understanding is that the last two books in the series will end up each being about 1,500 pages each so he has a lot of real estate to tie it up. Now I guess we just have to wait and see if can do it.
