The first sentence is the answer you your problem. wether the ice caps are melting or not has absolutely nothing to do with politics and calling it "typical right wing bull shit" is akin to calling someone a racist to try and win an argument. Science has nothing to do with politics and all to do with proof. People who mix the two do not do their arguments any favours and I'm quite sure that you'll find right wingers who think there is global warming due to humans and left wingers who think that global warming is just a misinterpretation of the facts.
