You can build a successful biz even paying $0.05-$0.1 per click from quality PPC engines, paid banners, etc..

The question is can you still get free high-traffic quality link exchanges and SE placement for a new site that has little traffic to start and is it worth the increased work vs. just yanking out your credit card and paying your way to the top?
