dont forget about population control, socio control, "projecting the future" from current socio trends, economic spying, humiliating and blackmailing political enemies, etc. etc.

and they think that they own keys to its kingdom...
but I dont blame them that much on it - you got to be special personality type to work for agency like NSA ;-) anyway, I dont think that changing policy will change anything here....the only things that may help are raising users' awareness, using crypto etc. etc. - which means, in NSA's eyes and other similiar agencies' in othe countries - who wants total control - that you are suspicious and terrorist
