Let's see how I do....
I think I'm good here. I recently dropped my landscaper. I decided that I needed the exercise and I could do it on my own and save $100 a month. So far so good.
However, the amount of money we spend on eating out is staggering. Just to give you an example Friday night we had pizza (three of us and three guests) $30, doughnuts and drinks for breakfast $25, and just now my wife says she is taking the kids out to lunch at a burger joint they like. Doesn't sound like much, but it adds up - that's $100 in 24 hours on crappy food.
I put money into savings every month, and we have multiple savings accounts at different banks. I get paid on the first, and take what ever money is left over and spread it out across three savings accounts.

We have a house, a condo, and two cars on credit. That's pretty much it. I do have a credit card, but that is paid off every month.
My plan is save money and invest.
When I was a kid I knew a Gunnery Sgt and he told me to take 10% each month and invest it. I've been doing that since I was 18, mostly into power companies and phone companies.

I'm good here.
When the recession hit I was unemployed for two years and we lived off of savings.
I started young.

Even when I was twenty-one and flat broke and working four jobs, I still put money every month.

It's all about tomorrow. My in-laws just retired and I see how they are living. They were never really rich, but when they retired their life didn't change much at all.

I got money invested in multiple places, savings, investments, and a condo that turns a small profit every month.

The older I get the more of a cheap bastard I have become.
And I might never buy a new car again.
