If a mother leaves her kid in a hot car everyone says "Oh that poor woman! She is just a frazzled mother and I cannot imagine what she is going through. No need to file charges because losing her kid is the worst pusnishment ever."
If a father does it then "charge him with murder!"
What about the mother who dropped her kid into a wild animal enclosure at a zoo a few years ago? The kid was torn to pieces and the DA did not file charges. I think everyone who kills a kid should be charged.
