There is nothing the US can do about putting this toothpaste back in the tube.
I keep saying this in a joking way, but I actually think it would be the best course of action. Let their little war play out (without the US in the middle) and they'll divide Iraq into territories.
When ISIS or whatever new terrorist faction that arises puts up training camps and bases -- we can bomb the shit out of those targets, and just make life hard for them with drones for the next 100 years.
