No sorry my lack of interest in soccer lies in the nature of the game, a game where true scoring opportunities are as rare as pubic hair on a stripper. I understand that what they are doing at midfield has some thought/strategy to it but the outcome of it rarely results in an exciting scoring attempt. It's just too easy to defend in soccer.
I am a hockey fan, I hate when hockey becomes like soccer and the team without the puck just blocks shots, takes away shooting lanes and obstructs the other team in whatever way they can. I stopped watching hockey for close to 10 years because it had turned into soccer on ice.
These great world famous soccer stars, they literally get their foot or head on the ball in the scoring area about twice a game.
The sport is growing in the US with ESPN's deal with the Premier League and the MLS but I'll never be a fan unless the rules change to provide more exciting offensive play. And that won't happen.
