He released a chapter from the next book recently. Last time he did that the book came out soon after. I'd expect it sometime in 2015.
The story explodes and grows to this point, then will contract as it gets toward the end. The show won't grow as large because getting that many actors would be a problem.
That's why characters are being merged. My guess is you'll like the next book and the show because we are headed for contraction in both soon.
