same deal here - submitted a ticket and just heard back from them:

We do apologize for this error. Despite auto-renew being turned off in the old system when the system was migrated, domains were temporarily set to ?auto-renew? and the system processed the payment. This is a known issue and the accounting team have begun voiding the invoices and issuing refunds. We do apologize for the delay but you will receive your refund soon and the domains will be removed from your account.
