So why are 13 of the 19 fatalities this year from pit bulls?
The truth is they were still bred to fight and attack. And you're right, the good pits were trained to not attack their handlers (and I'm sure you'll agree - ALL dogs are capable of attacking humans), so when they do attack, whether it's an animal or a human, they do not bite and let go, they do as the have been bred to do: fight and attack till they cannot continue to do so.
