I'm not so sure of the 'brave' credit people give them. To be brave you have to feel fear no?
There are people who have damaged amygdala's, either through injury or born that way, amygdala is the brain's fear center. It's a dangerous condition because they literally fear nothing.
I think at the very least people like these are wired differently than the rest of us. Bravery is knowing you risk injury/death, you feel the fear, yet still go through with the act.
