Ah, I envy you my friend... please have an Abita or Blackened Voodoo for me ;) Don't forget Checkpoint Charlie's (at Esplanade and Decatur I think) has music and food and drinks 24hrs and there's great food to be had at the Praline Connection resto - on "la rue des Francais" - Frenchmen street, a five minute walk away from Charlie's... unfortunately the greatest coffee house and museum on the planet, Kaldi's, is gone, I don't know if that was Katrina's fault (I think so, they were right on the coast) but at least bring back a memory of that early morning smell of coffee and chickory roasting down river if you can open your hotel room window...
