I was once in a grocery store standing in line at the checkout counter with two women behind me. One of them had a kid that was likely about 5-years-old and she was pregnant. They were talking about doing something, I can't remember what now. The pregnant one said to the other, "I will have to wait until the baby comes then I get a raise." After a few questions she explained to her friend that she gets more welfare for having two kids. She actually referred to it as her "raise" and "paycheck" a few different times.
