Far as mini vans we again just have the big three and I think all the japanese manufactures stopping selling mini vans in favor of SUV's but I maybe wrong. The only Euro type van we have here in the states is the VW and even with that we don't get all the options. They can't import any of the diesel options and we don't get the Westy's anymore.
Our lovely govt has done quite a good job at keeping out all the fuel efficient vans and trucks that you guys enjoy. Not a single manufacturer can import diesels either.. Mercedes does it somehow but they are the only ones.
We don't get those awesome Toyota diesel trucks nor do we get any van options in diesel except ones offered by Ford & Chevy. Not even Dodge offers one. Basically the big three and their lobbyist have crushed any real competition here in the US.
This wasn't always true as you can find older Nissan, Toyota & Isuzu trucks that had diesels but they are few and very far between. The very first 2 years of the Vanagon as well had diesels but after that they weren't imported. That was 80 & 81 I think. The older Nissian & Toyotas are about that same age..
Reagan became president and then it was FREEDOM from oppressive import cars that might harm US manufacturer's sales..
