colour me stupid, but I got some .xxx domains while they were on offer, thinking I'd be done with them after a year so wouldn't need to renew. One expired the other day, and was worth (probably) renewing, so I did. 36 hours later it isn't resolving, so I just rang them to see why.
Well what a laugh that was.
#1 - it's because the domain isn't set to auto-renew
#2 - it takes 48 hours for domains to resolve
#3 - you need to go into batch nameserver (for a single domain)
me: life's too short, don't worry about it. There's obviously some problem with the clowns who need your icm membership id for xxx domains to enable dns to resolve not getting the info, due to it having expired and gone offline for a day before I renewed it, but like fuck is it worth trying to struggle through their truly shit support (Diane couldn't understand anything I was saying, Bill at least understood me, if not that I wasn't some dumbass new domain purchaser. Or maybe I am, for having bought some .xxx domains...). At least it only cost me $98 for 1 renewal, and the others I can just let drop.
