I'm looking forward to seeing the new Godzilla as well. What looks really interesting about this movie is that by the previous at least, it seems to involve some backstory about atomic bombs and nuclear energy. For me, I have a very strange fascination with the A-bomb era of the 40's, 50's and 60's. I would LOVE to go to Trinity point for example, and would love to visit a nuclear reactor one day.

They just made Godzilla again a few years ago.
Then they "rebooted" Superman...just a couple of years after they had "rebooted" it before.
They "rebooted" Spiderman a couple of years after the latest Spiderman movie.

I think its because there is a huge amount of interest in these characters and their universe, that the movie turn out didn't match.
I thought the original 1978 version of Superman was excellent. The FX were great at the time, but the story, characters, acting, was much better. The reboot (2004?) sucked donkey balls. The story was boring, the actors were all wrong for the parts, etc. Man Of Steel, the Superman reboot of 2013 on the other hand, was fucking fantastic. Great story, great acting, great characters, great FX, rich textures, amazing music, gush gush gush. I went to see it twice in IMAX and bought the blueray when it came out.
Reboots are just retries... sucky movies based on popular stories deserve a second chance in my opinion. Look at Battlestar Galactica for example..
