History of WeFunk
DJ Static and Professor Groove began broadcasting WeFunk to Montreal in 1996, over the airwaves of CKUT (McGill University). The show aired biweekly for some initial shows, then settled into its prime Friday night party hours of midnight to 2am beginning January 1998. Within four months we were saturating the internet with shows served from our own independent server, and this grew into what you see now. We're still bumpin' Montreal every Friday on CKUT, while we bring the show to you 24/7 here on wefunkradio.com.
