Good column but he neglected to point out that Sterling is undeniably a public figure. The law does make different standards for political figures, public figures and private people. Those same standards will eventually be put in place for these sorts of situations. The guy who leaked the mitt Romney video did it to a political figure during a private event and should be protected. The gold digger who did it to sterling deserves less protection. The person who does it to a private person deserves to be punished by the law severely.

Yes, there is a difference between being a candidate for president, the owner of an NBA team and a guy who delivers pizzas for dominos. That difference should extend to privacy matters like these, much the same way it does in free speech cases when the government is an involved party to the situation.
