The fact is that most foreign food you eat in America has been dumbed down to suit the American palate, mild and bland. The same is true of Holland and the UK. Saying that there are a few exceptions, for example the UK has some of the best Indian food in the world due to the fact that many Indian people took the offer of a free passport when the UK pulled out of controlling Indian, they came over to use our social security system. The upside was great Indian food but little else.

When I lived in Holland I ate some of the best steaks (Tornados) I have ever tasted. And the pea soup was out of this world. Belgium fry?s are to die for.

No matter what country you live in you can get a ton of bad food you have to know where to eat, when I lived in Hong Kong it took a while to find a real non westernized Chinese restaurant. The Mandarin Hotels Limo driver took me to his local hangout and the food was out of this world.

In Penang, Malaysia I ate at a small hole in the wall with some Australian friends, compared to the more popular local restaurants the food was amazing, extremely hot and exactly what the locals eat.
To find good Mexican food you need to visit Mexico City or if that is out of the question try some of the restaurants in New Mexico USA. I have had some of the best Mex food there.
