basically they want people to start using the .youtube domain extension to promote their you tube pages instead of a .com which is a brilliant idea to make more profits.
You are going to see billions of dollars put into marketing of domains with some of these new extensions, since it will take a couple years to desensitize people from the .com, but trust me it works. In NYC they put a ton of money into promoting the MTA.info (Mass Transit Authority) with adds and banners on trains and buses, train stations and bus stops. Just look at the ranking
