Why was the ''victim'' out on the streets?
Secondly, confronting 5 (6?) police plus a police dog, men armed with assault rifles and wearing flack jackets, with a puny knife and screaming threats at them is dumb-as-dirt insane.
That said, 5 men could have clubbed the nut-case to the ground and taken him under arrest to the closest loony bin. They could have shot him with the bean bag gun. Instead they just opened fire.
The police acted with excessive force and malice. Voluntary manslaughter under color of authority -- the policemen had options other than exercising deadly force.
