The guy was in the middle of the desert not harming anyone. He was crazy and they knew it. The cops were standing almost on top of the guy pointing M16s at him.. They had zero reason to be that close to him which puts their lives at risk. They should of given the guy space and talked him out no matter if it took 3hrs or 6.

There was zero need to escalate the situation as there was no one at risk of being harmed until the cops shot him dead. They didn't even have the tazer or the bean bag gun out and ready, they had assault rifles ready to take him down. After they shot him they had to call in the guy with the bean bag gun and taser.

This is clearly a case of cops having no real training but being given assault rifles as if they were soldiers. The cops should of been no where near the guy specially with rifles..
